Team Leader Interview Questions and Answers - 2
8. How do you evaluate your team's performance?
Evaluating the team's performance allows you to see what things you did right and what went wrong. This allows you to take any corrective actions and approach the future with a better plan.
To be able to evaluate your team's performance,
i.) Set up KPIs and have a baseline which tells you that this is the minimum expectation from them as a team and individually.
ii.) Evaluations should be done both in a team and on an individual basis so that you get to know the real thoughts. Many a times people hold themselves back in team settings but would open up in a one to one meeting. These things allow you to plan better for the future.
iii.) While evaluating, be practical and put yourself in their position to see if what you expected was actually possible.
And, by the end of the meeting, you may find yourself re-adjusting the targets and the means to achieve them.
The best thing about having an evaluation process is that it allows you to fix the problems early and also plan your resources for the future.
