1. Gait and Gate

Gait - The manner in which you move your feet or walk or run is called as gait.

For e.g. After the severe injury in her leg, she walked with an uneven gait.

Gate - It is a structured part made of metal or wood attached to the fence or wall which opens and closes like a door and is used to bar the passage.

For e.g. The industry is surrounded by high wall and huge gate.

2. Vein, Vain and Vane

Vein - It refers to the thin tubes in our body, carrying blood from other parts of body to the heart. If you look at your hands, the blue tubes that you see are the veins.

For e.g. It was difficult to inject the needle as the vein was not clearly visible to take the blood sample.

Vain - i. When your efforts do not produce any result, they go in vain.

For e.g. Narsingh Yadav was banned by the Olympic committee. All his efforts and hard work were in vain.

ii. If you have achieved something or possess some abilities and you keep admiring yourself. This attitude is known as vain.

For e.g. Mr. Sharma is very vain about his remarkable achievements in the field of Science and Technology.

Vane - The noun vane denotes a blade attached to the wheel which is pushed by wind or water, such as, turbine, windmill or sail.

For e.g. A weather vane is used to show the direction of the wind, placed on the top of the building.

3. Hare and Hair

Hair - It refers to numerous fine thread-like strands growing from epidermis of humans or animals.

For e.g. To make your hair strong, you should massage your scalp twice a week.

Hare - Hare is a mammal, like a rabbit, with long ear.

For e.g. The snowshoe hare has an ability to change its color according to the surrounding.

4. Waist and Waste

Waist - Waist is the part of human body which is between the ribs and hips.It is slightly narrower.

Waste - An action which results in loss of something because of over use or using it in a careless manner.

For e.g. We can't afford to waste time discussing the formalities of operation as the patient is very critical.

5. Sore, Soar and Sour

Sore - When you get hurt or wounded, you suffer from physical pain. This pain is called sore.

For e.g. Last week, I couldn't manage to attend the classes as I was suffering from sore throat.

Soar - To soar means to make a quick and high rise than the usual level.

For e.g. The prices of food grains began to soar with high demand and low production.

Sour - Sour is a tangy or sharp taste. If you eat lemon or raw mango, the taste you feel sour.

For e.g. The taste of the milk has turned sour as it was left at normal room temperature for long hours.

6. Corporal and Corporeal

Corporal - When you hurt or beat someone that affects them physically, they are punished corporally.

For e.g. Now-a-days, corporal punishments are strictly prohibited in educational institutes especially in schools.

Corporeal - When you describe something that exists in the reality of physical world or related to body, it is said to be corporeal.

For e.g. For India to be a developed nation, government should undertake effective schemes to fulfill the corporeal needs of all citizens.
